Bloggers Challenge: Alter it!

Holy cow, it has been weeks since I have been able to play in the Bloggers challenge group. This weeks challenge is Alter it.

Well, I love to alter, and see what I can come up with. So, when I was trying to decide what to alter, I wanted to make something with a purpose ( I am huge for making cards and such and putting them to the side with no purpose. So, I had a large box of Reese's pieces and decided to make a case for it. What's the purpose you ask, My BF Paula just had a baby boy who was born at 26 weeks. He weighed in at 2'7, and 15 inches long. Being so premature, he must stay in the NICU in the hospital until the end of September. Well, the issue being she has 4 other children at home (all under the age of 6), and the hospital is a good 45 minutes away if not longer. Everyday she goes to the hospital and spends 1/2 the day with the baby and then comes home and takes care of the other children. So, I thought I would make this little candy holder for her to make her smile, and there would be a little snack for her for one of her trips to the hospital. Also, she wouldn't have to share with the other kiddos, because the Reese's Pieces box is hidden(hehehe).

For my project today I used one of my Inky Impressions stamps, and kind of winged my project. As I was making the candy holder, I was thinking they would make great favors for parties and such.

Well,, That is it for me today. I am off to prepare for SU Ink & More's Blog Hop on Wednesday. You don;t want to miss it. There will be great new sneak peeks and Denise (The owner) is giving away some AMAZING prizes! Mark your calenders.
Have a great Monday!

  4. It is a great project Kristen. I love the colors, the layout, just everything about it. I hope your BF likes it, I am sure she will. Great coloring on the girl, she is really cute. I agree these would make great party favors, they could be designed for any occasion. What a cute idea if you are giving someone a movie or movie gift card, you could add the movie candy! You are the best!
