Bloggers challenge #88 and a little Twilight

I am back from my brief overnight stay at Coco Keys Resort Indoor water park. I had a wonderful time with my family, but the resort was lacking. They had shut the little kids area down for over an hour, due to a bathroom issue. This would have been fine, but that area was he only place the little kids could go. Everything else was to big. We waited in line for 1 hour for some chicken nuggets and fries. We did complain to the manager, and we didn't get very far, until we were able to speak to the hotel manager. Which was very receptive to our complaints. He was so nice. He refunded all our money $209.00, and then offered us another stay that night for FREE, and he gave us another paid weekend at the resort for free.
We didn't have a terrible time, but things could have been better and that is why the hotel manager generously refunded us our money.

So, For today's Bloggers challenge, I altered a tin I had. This was very simple and one of the fastest projects I have done in a while.

Little of track, but for all you Twilight lovers out there, Sweet tarts have the Twlight version. Knowing how much I LOVE twilight, my husband saw these and bought them for me. I thought that was cool. The movie is be released on DVD on March 21st. I can't wait!!!!! Have you read the books? Did you see it at the movies???

Feeling Coopy???

Happy Wednesday. I love Wednesadays. They mean half way to the Weekend. Anyone have any big plans this weekend? My kids are home this week for February Vacation, and we are planning on taking them to a indoor water park. We haven't told them yet, because we will have to listening to the "are we going NOW?". My daughter will continue to ask (literally) a thousand questions. So, we have decided to surprise them and just pack and go. We will be headed there tomorrow afternoon into Friday. We are then clear sailing with no comitments for the weekend (I love that).

I have 2 quizzes tonight for A&P, and then 2 midterms, and 1 practical next week, so I will be putting in some serious study time. I can't wait for the semester to be over!!!!

Todays card was made for 3 differnt things. First, MJ's Monday Lunchtime sketch challenge (see sketch below), 2nd Clear Dollar Stamps is hosting a Challenge. The challenge was to use Pearls or a pearlizing agent on your card. I used Liquid perls on My eggs, and a pearl brad on my flowers. Last, but not least, I made this card for my good friend KDC. She has been cooped up in her house for 2.5 weeks sick with sick kids. I thought the saying would be peprfect for her right now. I hope you feel better Kerry!

Also, with the month almost over, SUINK will be sneek peeking 2 new sets starting today. Here's the schedule. Check out the blog to see what's coming.

Bloggers Challenge 86-Valentines Day & Injury

Happy Friday everyone! You know what Friday means....Bloggers Challenge. This weeks challenge was simple, VALENTINES DAY. So, today's card is my last Valentines card for the year. What better set to use to make a valentines Day card than "Will You Be My Valentine" by SUINK! I completely love making cards with this little boy and girl. I also think they would make a great card for other occasions, like Easter. They could each hold a egg. I will have to try that.

Anyways, I used some new (to me) DP paper from Basic Grey. I paper pieced the Girls dress and the boys shirt to match the card. I love the look pf paper piecing. How about you?

So, quick story about making this card. I started this card yesterday and finished it this morning. All it needed was the brads.( SIDE NOTE: under my crafting table is a huge box filled with my SU stamps.) so, when I sat down this morning to finish my card, as I was working, I moved my foot forward and felt a stabbing pain in my toe. Well, I dropped the phone (I was talking to KDC), and looked at my toe, and saw that it was gushing blood. Well, I had moved my foot along the carpet, and on the carpet was one of my blades from my rotary cutter (had no idea it was there). When I moved my foot, it pushed the blade in to the box, and the opposite end into my toe. OUCH!!! I let Kerry go (obviously) and took a better look at my toe. Yep, I thought it needed stitches and off to the ER I went. Try explaining to the DR that you sliced your toe open making a card. It even sound ridiculous as I was saying it. AT one point I even heard a nurse say" I don't know, you cut her toe scrapbooking or something". Good Grief! Well, I came out of the ER with 5 stitches across my big toe. Who said stamping wasn't a sport (Hehehe). Well, that is enough of me blabbing. I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday and a Very Happy Valentines Day. Any big plans?

For more great valentines day cards check out the Bloggers Challenge ladies, and for more great cards Using the SU INK set "Will You Be My Valentine" check out the SUINK blog. Happy Day!

Happy Easter (early)!

It's a TERRIFIC Tuesday (I hope), and I have to tell you, I have already put in a weeks worth of work already. I had a Statistics test yesterday (not my best subject), and I have a Anatomy & Physiology test tomorrow night. I guess it wouldn't seem that bad if I didn't have to work tonight (argh).

On a much happier note, I did manage to get up at 5:00 am this morning and squeeze in a little stamping. Today's card was made for MJ's Mondays Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.

When I sat to make a card this morning, I was going to do another Valentines Day card, but honestly, I am sick of Valentines day already. I think I have been making V-day cards since the beginning of January. So, I pushed aside the pink, red and brown and went for some brighter more springy colors. I just happen to have the Urban Prairie paper pack from Basic grey, which has FANTASTIC Colors. I dipped into my stamp stash and started thing Easter, and when I think Easter, I think of this cute bunny stamp from High Hopes. I pent a long time coloring this precious bunny. I was practicing my blending. What do you think?

Well, I am off to study. I hope you all have a TERRIFIC day. If you get a chance, head over to MJ's blog and play along.

BLOG CANDY!!!!!

As I have said before, I LOVE pattern paper, and right now Basic Grey 6x6 paper packs are my favorite. I love them so much that I have accumulated numerous packs of the same styles. For awhile, I couldn't find the Cupcake pack, so I ordered 2, and in the meantime my good friends Kerry & Pia both bought me a pack. So in the end, I ended up with 4 packs.

I also hit the jackpot with the Martha Stewart Valentines Lace edge punch, and you know, I couldn't leave any extras in the store. I had to have them all! Why you ask? To be honest with you, I don't know. I knew they were HTF, so I guess I thought I better stock up just in case!!!

So, in lieu of all my hording, I am offering up some fun Blog candy. The blog candy includes 2 packs of 6x6 Basic Grey paper packs(Cupcake & Urban Prairie), 1 Martha Stewart Valentines Lace edge punch, and 1 Inkadinkado Cupcake stamp set. So, what do you have to do? It's simple

1. Leave me a comment on this post telling me what your favorite product is.
2. Sign up to receive e-mails and/or Follow my blog.
3. Link me up on your blog and spread the word!
4. Last but not least, SMILE !

I will announce the winner on Valentines day! Thanks for checking out my blog, and I can't wait to see what your favorite product is!

It's a Chick's Friendly Valentine Parade!

I Hope you all are having a FABULOUS Friday. Today's project is a Challenge hosted by Mandy at Limelight. Every month she challenges her design team to a project. This months project was to make a Valentine gift and matching card for a friend. PERFECT!! I love challenges, and was more than happy to create a project for my friends.

You see, I have 2 very good friends that are serious card makers, and they are also my my partners and crime on my shopping trips, so I made each of them a mini tote bag filled with mini snickers, and a matching card. My tote bag was inspired by Beth Matson.

Once again, I have used Lilly & Billy set by Pink Cat Studio, and Bittersweet DP by basic grey. I also used 2 different sized Prima flowers. All can be purchased at Limelight.

While making this card, I ran out of red gems. So I took clear gems and colored them with my copic markers. They worked perfectly. You have got to love the Copics.

If you have not had a chance to visit Limelight Papercrafts, now is the time to head over there. They are having a SALE and have a CLEARANCE section at the store! And let me tell you, NOW is the time to be stocking up on CARDSTOCK of all types! All of our Bazzill, DoubleMates (Worldwin), and Waste Not Paper cardstocks are 30-50% off!!

Also, have some time for some challenges?? Limelight Papercrafts has issued another Sketch and Product Challenge! And...we are sponsoring the Dutch Dare Card Challenge this week! Click on the links for details... and to see what prizes are being offered up!

If you get a chance, Go head over to the LIMELIGHTs Chick's blogs, and see what projects they came up with .

SU INK WHATCHA DOIN Wednesday Challenge- Just Married

Yeah, it's Wednesday. Wednesdays are always a nice day for me. They mean the Weekend is almost here, and Wednesday also means WHATCHA DOIN WEDNESDAY challenge over at SU INK .

The challenge today was a sketch challenge created by MaryJo. If you frequent my blog, you know I am a huge sucker for sketch challenges. I LOVE working with them.

For my card today, I used the newly released "Goin To The Chapel" by SU INK. I have not made very many wedding cards, but I had a lot of fun playing with this new set. I saw the bride and immediately thought BLING. I cut out and the dress and her Vail, and attached them over the original stamp for a little dimension.

Well, I hope you all are having a WONDERFUL Wednesday. If you get a chance check out the SUINK blog to see some wonderful cards and projects made with the new sets by an amazing bunch of ladies.
SUPPLIES: stamps "Goin the Chapel" by SU INK, PAPER: DP by Making Memories new 6x6 pad, SU pretty in pink, and Black Cardstock, INK: Black memento, and Copics, MISC: scalloped marvy punch, SU scalloped straight punch, bling.

Hey, What's Up?

I hope you all are having a TERRIFIC Tuesday. It's snowy and cold here today. I can;t remember a winter where we it has been so cold and so snowy. It seems as though it snows almost everyday. Maybe not a ton, but just enough to remind me that spring is no where in sight.

I must admit, that I am LOVING my Clear dollar stamps. I only have this one set, but in due time I am hoping to expand my CD collection. I have been averaging about 4 cards a week, and I am accumulating lots of scraps. So I have been trying to use what is left over before I break into more stuff. I do love my paper paks. The paper I used today is from one of the newer Making Memories. I love the pink and Black combo, and I really love it for the cow. It's hard to see in the pic, but I gave her pink eyelashes to match. Now that I am looking at the card, it would have been cute to put a small pink bow on her head. Maybe next time.

My card today was done for MJ's Monday Lunchtime sketch challenge. My card is not exact to the sketch, but close enough. You all should check out MJ's blog and play along. They are always fun. I have tried to make it a regular challenge for myself. SO, hop on over and play along.
