A little Friday FUN

Happy Friday......With my hubby being down with a broken ankle, I have not had much time for cards, but I did manage to make a card for Michelle at The Paper Tree. She gave me some Bella's and Whipper Snappers to work with. Now, I am not a huge Bella fan, but I did really like this mismatched Ketto. I am definately into the "rocker" look with my stamps. Since I am typically a jean, t-shirt and flip flops kind of girl, I like to show my inner wild side on some of my cards (hehehe).

Short post today, but I will have a bunch of things going on here, on Monday. Watch for new releases, blog hopes, and PRIZES!!!!!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Abbey & Digi Shack Thursday challenge

WOW, it has been a few days since I posted. Things have been crazy over here in our house. Last Wednesday my husbands aunt passed away, and on Sunday, my husband tripped outside and broke his ankle in two different places. So, needless to say it's been all me. He broke his right ankle, which means he can't drive, and really can hardly walk. We are seeing the orthopedic surgeon today to get a date for surgery. He will need a plate and screws to keep the ankle lined up. I am telling you, when it rains it pours.
My daughter is also making her 1st communion this weekend and I have been trying to get ready for that as well. So this is the reason for my lack of post. Not enough time in the day for me.

WOW....Haw time flies when you're having fun. My Daughter Abbey turned 8 yesterday and it was blowing my mind. Amazing how fast time goes. I can clearly remember the days when she was an infant and loved to be snuggled, and now, Still likes to be snuggled, but not in front of her friends.

For her special day yesterday, I made Choc Chip cookie sandwhiches for her to bring to school and share with her class, and then I went and had lunch with her at school and treated her to a McDonalds Happy meal. She was very popular at lunch (hehehe).

When I was making the cookies for her class, I decided that I would use the left over cookie dough and make Abbey a giant cookie for her birthday, instead of cake. I frosted it with choc frosting and added some pink sprinkles. Well, as you can see from the photos, this was a BIG hit. She took at bite and said "I am in love". She's so silly.

Today is Digi Shacks Thursday challenge, and the challenge at hand is a sketch challenge . My favorite. I used DIgi Shacks weaved flower pot and saying and some new Making Memories paper I got from The Paper Tree.

So, if you're looking for a challenge, head on over to the Digi Shack and play along. While you're there, check out their new Digi packs. They are super cute and at a great price. I am loving the DIGI world. So easy! Have a great Thursday and maybe I will see you on Friday.

P.S. Today is also Three Clover Design Thursday. Due to lack of time I was not able to play, but if you would like to join them, head on over. Her challenge today is Ship Shape. ANy card that is not square or rectangle. Check it out if you get a chance! There's a prize.....

Whachadoin Wednesday Challenge 41- DE-STRESS

Happy Wednesday all. Here we are, the middle of the week and only 2 days left till Friday and for a few of us, a 3 day weekend. Any big plans? I plan on staying home most of the weekend and hoping to get my garden in. Memorial Day weekend is considered "Safe from a frost" for us New Englanders to start planting. I am hoping to get my flowers in today and the veggie garden in over the weekend. I may even get creative. How about you?

Today is Su Ink's Whatchadoin Wednesday challenge. The challenge is to DE-STRESS. The thought is, due to all the stress and anxiety in our lives, lets play on words and DE-STRESS. Sit, relax, and take out your stress on a card, and distress.

I used SUINK's "Welcome to The Zoo".I used some my new DP I got at CK Manchester last week and distress my circles with scissors, and crumpled some of my paper. I used to be a lot better with distressing. Now I think I am to busy trying to make my cards all pretty. I also played along with MJ's Monday lunchtime sketch challenge. I love when I can work 2 challenges in one card. Hehehe.

I am off to a beautiful Wednesday here in New Hampshire. I am going to get the kids off to school, and enjoy our first "warm" day.

Can't wait to see your creations. When uploading online please use the keywords SUINKWWC41 and come on back here and leave us a comment. We would love to come and check out your creation!

I also wanted to share with you that Digi Shack is the host over at Card Patterns. The challenge is a sketch challenge, and the prize is FREE Digi images.

Here is the card I made for their sketch challenge, but this card has a much better purpose. I made this card for my good friend Pia. Pia's 93 yo Grandmother passed away yesterday and I wanted her to know That I am thinking about her and her family.

I used one of my new Digi images and colored away. I do have to tell you a little story about this card. I had just finished the card, it was colored and everything. Well, I decided that the color I used for the leaves didn't look right. So, I went back over the leaves with a little darker green, and all of a sudden a huge glob of ink fell on my card. Arrrrrrrhhhhhgggg. I tried to cb it out, but it was to much. I had to do it all over. I of course took a photo to show the glob. There was no fixing it. Does anyone know why that may happen with a Copic marker? What the heck. So, this very simply card turned into a all day project.

So, if you get a chance, head over to Card patterns and check out the sketch and then sign up with mr. linky. FREE images...... Also, take advantage of the Digi Shack sale......

Cloud Tutorial

Happy Friday all. Have you ever looked at something and said, hmmm "how did they do that"? Well, I have been struggling with creating a sky on my cards, and I often see these really cool clouds and wonder "How did they do that". Well, I recently had a mini lesson from Mary & Peggy and it was so much easier than it looked, so i thought I would share this info with you. If you look at my last week of cards, you will notice I have gone crazy with the clouds. I love the affect!

I start of with White card stock, Bliss Blue Ink pad from SU, my Great Impression cloud maker (you can also use a scalloped oval circle and get the same affect), and a make up sponge.

You then place the cloud maker on the paper, dab your sponge in the ink pad, DAB off on a scrap paper before you start on your project. This will prevent big dark blobs of ink. Continue moving your cloud maker/scalloped oval circle around from high to low.

Sponge until you get the affect that you want. This is so easy and looks so wonderful. If you get a chance to try it out, lmk, I would love to see your project.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Happy creating!

Three Clover Thursday & Digi Shack challenge Thursday

Happy Thursday!!!! Today i have two wonderful challenges for you. The first challenge is Kerry's over at Three Clover Designs. Her challenge was to make a card using flowers the flowers can be anywhere or anything. This is a really easy challenge for me, because I almost always have a flower somewhere on my card (hehehe).
Okay, while I was away on my stamping trip in Vermont, friends of mine (Mary/Peggy)were showing me some of there new stamps. They had just place a fairly good sized order with Sugar Nellie and they were playing with those. Well, I have seen sugar Nellie and liked them, but in person, I LOVED them. Oh boy, another thing I "MUST" have. My card today was made with one of there images. They tell me she is a pen pal girl, but I thought she looked more "rocker" girl to me, so I went with that. These are really fun images to color and to make "your own". These images can easily look so different depending on who is creating with them. I LOVE them! I don;t always like my cards, but I was pretty happy with this one. She kinda reminds me of my daughter.

Over that same weekend I had purchased some of the Bo Bunny flowers (I haven't seen these in my area), and put them on this card, Added some stickles and there ya have it.
Do you love flowers? Wanna play?To participate please upload your card to your blog or SCS and leave a direct link to that post with Mr. Linky over at Kerry's.
Then we can all enjoy your creations!
When uploading to your blog or scs please link back to this post so that everyone can join in on the fun!
If you upload to SCS please use 3CTC13 in the keyword or title so that anyone looking can easily locate it.

Supplies
Stamps: Sugar Nellie
Paper: Basic grey
Inks: Memento black, Copics
Misc: Bo Bunny Flowers, Robins nest baubles, Stickles

Digi Shack Challenge

Today's Digi Shack challenge is a sketch challenge. Trying to figure out my cards layout out is the hardest part for me, so a sketch challenge makes the rest easy. Love sketch challenges!

For the sketch image, I used one of Digi Shack's new Lani images. These are so cute, you have got to check them out. I new how I wanted to color her, but I wasn;t sure of her purpose. Who would I give this card to? I took a closer look at her and decided she was kinda "sexy" (hehehe). Well, that then lead to blue eye shadow, blush and pink lipstick, and then finally my saying (computer generated). I still don;t know who I will give this to, but I think it's funny for a grown mans b-day. What do you think? Wanna play Shack and join in on the fun. When uploading your samples to your gallery please use keyword TDSC05. Also, Toni, the owner is very generous she is over FREE Digi Hawaiian sayings. Go ahead over and get them.

Last but not least, I am addicted to using my new cloud maker, and I have been using clouds in all my cards. You don't have to have a Cloud maker to make clouds. You can use a scalloped oval circle. I am going to do a Mini tutorial on my blog tomorrow, so check back if you like my clouds!

Supplies:

paper: Basic Grey
ink: copics, bashful blue (sky)
misc: stickles, nessties

Have a wonderful Thursday and I hope you can play along!

Hay There

Happy Tuesday all..... Did you have a wonderful Mother's Day? We went to see my Mother and Mother-in-law and then My husband and I went to the Red Sox game with my friend Pia and her hubby. Had a great day.

I made today's card when I was away in Vermont. I have a lot of High Hopes stamps that I have not even inked up yet, so I was on a mission to play with these super cute images. I used my cloud maker for the back ground. I colored the the hay, and the kids and cut them out and placed them, and then one of my friends had the "hay there" stamp. PERFECT! I don;t know who I will give this to, but I really enjoyed coloring this card.

QUESTION FOR YOU! Do you color with Copics? If no why (don't have any, intimidating, like my method better)? If no, what coloring medium do you use?

Supplies
Stamps: High Hopes
Ink: Copics, memento black, blue bashful blue su for the sky.
paper: paper Trey white, SU DP & Cardstock

SU INK Sneak Peek & Bloggers Challenge #98

HAPPY FRIDAY! I am so glad it's Friday aren't you? The sun is shining, the grass is green, the birds are chirping and the scent of lilacs is heavy in the air. Ahhhh....Life is good!

Today I have a SU INK & More sneak Peek and Bloggers challenge for you. I love the 2 in one challenges.

The bloggers's challenge was to make a Mom theme card, and the SU INK challenge was to make a card, gift item and a scrap page. I must admit, when I saw that I had to make a scrap book back, I cringed. It has been so long since I have scrap booked. That thought was scary. Sooooo....

I made a Mother's Day card and a matching gift card holder with the new paper products that SU INK will start carrying on 5/15. I also used the "you're Some bunny Special" and "thinking of Mom" stamp sets. I am a huge fan of Brown and pink, so that is why I went with that combo.

For the second half of the challenge: the Scrapbook page. In the first place, Ihave to tell you, I had a great time making this page, and it reminded me why I starting scrapping in the the first place, I love doing it. I also really like how my page came out. Not bad for not scrapping in over 2 years.

So, what do you think of the Page? Do you like the paper and embellishments? I do! Can't wait to see the whole that that Denise will be carrying. If you get a chance, hop on over and check out what the rest of the blogger's challenge ladies made, and take a peek on the SU INK blog to see MJ's samples. The rest of the DT will be peeking there projects over the weekend, so keep an eye out!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST!! MY BLOGOVERSARY IS APPROACHING , AND I HAVE SOME BIG PLANS THAT I WILL ANNOUNCE TOMORROW! STAY TUNED!!!!!!!

Three Clover Thursday: Happy Mother's Day

Happy Three Clovers Thursday. Today Kerry challenged us to make a mother's day card with ribbon or lace. Do you see the lace? me neither, when I read the challenge, I only saw Mother's day (ooppps). It was a rough week. Like I had said yesterday, I had 3 finals in three days, but you know what? I am FINISHED & FREE!!!!! Let the Mojo run free. I am so happy to be able to get back to "normal" life (laundry, making dinners, cleaning my house, and of course my creative hobby). Seriously, I can't wait to get my house cleaned and organized. I had put so many things off until the semester was over. It is time to do some catching up.

Ok, back to my card. This was one of the cards I had made over the weekend at our Vermont trip. My good friend KDC was kind enough to let me stamp one of her Tilda's, and I thought this Tilda would make a great Mother's day card (plus, she is holding Lilacs and I LOVE lilacs). As much as I as I don't love these little Tilda girls (because of the mouth), They are growing on me. I love to color them and set up a scene with them. I loved coloring the wall, the tree, and shading all her clothes. "I think I like Tilda"! Shhhh, don;t tell Kerry.

So, if you get a chance, head on over to Kerry's blog and see what the team cam e up with and then come join in on the fun and don;t forget to sign up with Mr. linky.

Supplies:
Stamps: Magnolia
PAPER: Basic Grey
INK: copics, and memento black
misc: white pen, stickles

Whachadoin Wednesday Happy Mother's Day

WOW, it's Wednesday already. Seriously, this week has been flying for me. Do you know that yesterday my Mother asked me what I what I was going to do for Mother's Day, and I said "when is it". OMG it is this Sunday. Yes, I have been making cards for it, but didn't realize it was already here. School has me crazy. I have spent so much time studying that the days are just passing me by.

Today's card is made for SU INK & More whachadoin Wednesday challenge. The challenge (obviously) is Mother's day. I used one of my favorite SU INK sets "Sweet things". This was originally a Valentines themed set, but what I really liked it as a Mother's Day card. How perfect are the flowers for mom? I also used the new paper pack by Basic grey. The photograph did not pick up the colors well at all, but they are a plum and very pale green. I paper pieced the girls dress and shoes, and of course cut her out and pop dotted her. Everything should be pop dotted, don;t you think?

The SU INK DT always has FABULOUS samples, so head on over and check out what those very creative ladies did for today's challenge. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
