A little Edgar Allan Poe (well sort of)....

Happy December 1st! It sure has been a long time since I have been able to post.  School has been killing me.  I should have never taken three classes this semester.  It was entirely too much, but the good news, my semester ends this week and I will finish, with all "A"s.  It will be so nice to have a break from nursing papers, and research projects.  I am completely looking forward to getting crafty, as soon as it is over.  I have even started prepping a Christmas craft project, which I have given you a peek below!
You will have to stay tuned for the finish projects :)
Today I am sharing my card for last weeks Stampotique Originals Designers challenge.

Kay is our hostess this week and she has a fun challenge for us this week:

"My challenge this week is a simple one, but requires a bit of research on your part.  Just as many of the Stampotique Originals' artists design stamps that might be described as a bit "quirky," so, too, was Edgar Allan Poe a bit quirky.  He is a well known author and poet, living from 1809-1849.  His quotes range from the romantic to the melancholy, and from the thoughtful to the murderous!  The choice is yours.  Allow yourself some time this week to combine a quote from Edgar Allan Poe with one or more stamped images to create something unique!"
So, when I think of Edgar Allan Poe, I think "dark and a bit crazy", so I went with one of Edgar's quotes, and combined it with Buru, and combined him with Arwens Memo Page and came out with this mini journal page.  This was a fun challenge, and I hop you will join us over at Stampotique Originals.!

Born to Stand out!

Happy Hump Day...I am so glad we have reached the half point in this week, as I feel as though it has been the longest week ever.  I'm not sure if it is the time change or the fact that it gets dark at 4:30 in the afternoon.  I sure do hate the winter and the older I get the worse the winter seems to me.  The only good part of the cold weather, is the fact that I am starting to "hibernate" for the winter (lol), and don't want to be outside as much, which allows me more time to create. Todays card was made for this weeks Stampotique Designers Challenge, which is being hosted by Arwen, and here is what she has to say about this weeks challenge:
"Artwork consist of many small details that make a whole.
This week I would like to see spotlights in your work.
Lift a detail of your artwork especially visible out."

I have to admit, this was a hard challenge for me.  I love to color and to leave part of my image white, kinda makes me crazy, but it is a challenge and a good one for me.  I used Smitten Moustache Monsters stamp, and a computer generated quote, which I thought was perfect for the spotlighting challenge.   I hope you will come join use for this weeks challenge and a chance at $30.00 in free product.  Have a great day!

                                                                       Annettte

Sending smiles and hugs with a card drive!

Happy Sunday! Today I wanted to share not only my card for this weeks Stampotique Designers challenge, but also a story about teenager, that has her fair share of pain and "crappy" days, which is why I am dedicating this card to Shelbie Murphy.  Before I tell you how amazing she is, let me tell you a bit about this weeks challenge, which is hosted by Nellie
and here is what Nellie has to say about this weeks challenge.

"No explanation needed for this week's challenge. I'm asking you to use your favourite colours. Use as many colours as you want to. I think we all have favourite colour combinations, colours that always match, colours that work for us, colours we turn to when we lack a bit of inspiration. Mine are variations of green and blue. What are yours?"

This challenge was super easy for me, as I LOVE color, but I wanted to limit it to my favorite color combination, which is green and pink.  I used  Hazel Heart, and the new release Vine scroll for the background.  The vine scroll is perfect for so many different theme cards.  It could easily go toward a much "darker" theme card as well. Loved this challenge!!!  We would love for you to join us and enter this weeks challenge for a chance to win some free product!
Now let me tell you about this amazing girl named Shelbie.  She is a 17 year old amazing girl, who has been fighting cancer for the past seven years.  In 2010 she was diagnosed with with stage 4 Ewing Sarcoma, childhood bone cancer. Since then, she has been fighting a horrible battle that no child should have to experience.  Not only has cancer caused her horrible pain, multiple surgries, tranfusions, and misery, but it has has robbed her of experiencing a "typical"  childhood and teenage expierences, and while most of us take day to day life for granted, Shelbie has embraced everyday as it is her last.  Instead of worry about herself, she is always worryig about others and putting their feelings first.  She truly is an amazing girl, who makes the world smile. So, since Shelbie colors the world with her smile, I am dedicating this card to her!  Always thinking and praying for you Shelbie!

As Shelbie is always coloring the world with her smile, I would like to try to color her world with cards.  If you have a card to spare, I know Shelbie would love a quick note:

Have a great Sunday night!

All My Friends Are Zombies!

Happy Wednesday (hump day) and I love Wednesdays, because they mean Stampotique Originals Designers challenge.  It is my week to host this weeks challenge, and my challenge is ghouls and goblins.  I love Halloween and and spooky things, so any chance I get to get creatively spooky, I will.  My page was inspired by a page I saw on pinterest, and I also wanted to use Zombies, as The Walking Dead is one of my favorite shows, so I combined Halloween and zombies. It has been a while since I made a journal page and boy I forgot how much I love making journal pages.  I hope you will join us for this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Going Grey With Scrap-Creations Challenge: Halloween prize challenge

Happy Tuesday! I hope you have a fantastic weekend!  It is starting to get chilly here in New Hampshire. I woke up this morning to a whopping 40 degrees....Burrr...the trees have gone from beautiful shades or red, orange, yellow to bare, and stalk looking, which only means one thing......WINTER is coming...UGH!!! I am not a winter kind of girl, and while I do enjoy the very first snowfall of the year, that is wear it ends.  I hate the cold, and I am already so over six plus feet of snow on the ground at all times. For now, I am going to continue taking in what is left of the trees....
This week we have a super fun challenge for you....This week we want to see your Halloween projects.  I made Frankenstein card which was inspired by this card I saw on pinterest.   I can't wait to see what you all create for this weeks challenge, which I have decided to give away a Halloween themed goody bag to one of our lucky players.
Last weeks "make it Pop" top 3 are:
                                                                     Katie Tate
                                                                      Art By yogi

Cheers!

Happy Thursday!  I hope you are having a great week.  I for one, am happy to be back on my feet.  My family and are are finally back on our feet after almost five days of a stomach bug...UGH!  The only thing worse than seeing your kids sick, is trying to take care of your sick kids when you are just as sick...Thankfully, the stomach bug seems to have passed and the kids are back at school and I am back to work....
I did manage to color a bit and create a card for this weeks Stampotique Designers challenge hosted by: Carol Fox and here is what Carol has to say about this weeks challenge:

"I love strong colours that really pop on the page, so I ask you this week to feature Black, Pink and Purple on your make for the challenge this week."

I too love the colors that Carol chose, and I made a very simple card using Cheers for this weeks challenge.  I hope you will come play with us this week. :)

Stampotique Book Text Challenge

Happy Hump Day!!!! I love Wednesdays, it's the middle of the week, I have Thursdays off, and it means the weekend is approaching.  It also means that it is Stampotique Originals Designer challenge day, and our host for this week is Corrie and here is what she has to say:
Hello everybody and happy Wednesday to you all!
"Today it is my turn to host the Challenge and I would like you to use book text. This is such a versatile material and when I get a bit stuck, I regularly reach for an old book to use the pages. I think everybody has an old book or magazine lying around to use. I can't wait to see what you come up with, but most of all have fun creating !!!
Corrie x"
This was a super fun challenge for me to create, as I love text paper. It is fun to use and can be used on anything. I used the Happy Lion stamp, which was in Stampotiques new release in September.  Isn't he adorable????  Head on over to the designers challenge blog and check out what the rest of the team did.  Have a great Hump day!

Going Grey With ScrapCreations Challenge: Pop It Up!

Happy Tuesday!  I can't believe it's October already, seems as though the weeks are flying by, and here we are in October, one of the most beautiful months of the year, here in New Hampshire.  Fall in New England is like no where else, the trees are stunning.... The pic above is from a hike my husband and I just did at Mt. Major in Alton Bay New Hampshire.  The view at the top was amazing, completely worth the 3 days of pain after...LOL...

I haven't had a whole lot of time to stamp lately, as I am currently taking 3 classes this semester and time is limited, but I think it is important for me to take time to do what I love, which is getting inky!!! I am so thankful to have two groups that force me to create...One of the reason I am creating this week, is this weeks Pop It Up Challenge, and because I also would like to play in last weeks Stampotique Originals Masculine Challenge hosted by Kim, I was able to do both with this card.
I used Stampotiques Thinking of you and while it is hard to see, I popped up the dog and the lamp shade.  I used the masculine DP to cover Kim's fabulous challenge.  Hope on over and check out the amazing work by the DT!

Are you ready to see last weeks Fall challenge TOP 3???   Drumroll....
