The Winter's beast and beauty
Last night was a nightmare. Our lights went out at 10:30pm, and stayed out until this morning. We had a pretty significant ice storm. I hardly slept, as I was worried sick about all the trees I could hear cracking all around us. We have a huge pine tree in our front yard, and it was losing branches left and right. At one point during the night, we heard a huge crash, and it turned out to be a huge branch from the pine, which wiped out the wires from our house. Needless to say, when we woke up, I was not shocked to see the mess in my yard, nor the neighbors. Once I was passed the aw of the storms strengh, I started to notice the beauty that it left behind. Of course I had to run and get my camera. I hope the weather is better where you are.

We're expecting a blizzard and I'll take that anytime over what you dealt with!!!
Kristen, I've been through a few ice storms myself so I completely understand your lack of sleep and concern! But all is well today; "the worst is over," asthey say, so now you can enjoy the amazing sights all around you! Thanks for sharing the pix though! Wow! Clean up will be a bummer for you!
Awwwwwww we didn't get anything here!! Glad you are ok!!!
Gosh I hope things are warming up for you. On a side note the pictures with the ice hanging off are stunning. Love your tree ornament too. Very cute.
Stunning photos.
And what did we get? Rain rain and more flipping rain!
Beautiful ice pics! well i can honestly say we had 76 degree weather yesterday so pretty good here in Central Tx!
Gorgeous photos! Hope you don't get anymore storms like that though.
Kristen, you had tons of damage! I hope to upload my photos today. I was the same as you, petrified a tree would crash through the house and kill one of us.
I hope to God we don't lose it again!!
