Let The Flakes Fly

Happy Thursday......and yes, it is a Happy Thursday.... I got the results from my Chemisrty test, and all my studying and the 3 hours it took me to take the test payed off.....I GOT a B.....I was thrilled. The test was REALLY hard, so I will take a B.
So, here is card 4 of 11, and yep, it is another Whipper Snapper image. I thought the snomen were so cute together. I decided to match the to the paper, as I all most always work my card around whatever paper I want to use.
Well, I have no homework tonight, so I am hoping to make another card or two. Have a great day, and check back tomorrow for my Bogger's challenge card.

I hope you all have a good night, and check back tomorrow for card #4.

Girls scrap weekend away

This weekend My friends and I headed to Vermont for a "scrapper's" weekend away. We stayed in the Quail Hollow Inn in Chester VT. This was my first time away from my family and my first time staying in a bed & breakfast. The whole weekend was fantastic. The Inn was Fab. The food was to die for, the rooms were comfy, and the company was wonderful. I couldn't have had a better time. I can't wait to go back.
As you can see my Van was packed with Pia, Kerry and my crap. Out of all the bags that you see, only 3 small bags were clothes, and the rest was stamps, paper, ink and so on. What could better than a weekend away with friends scrapbooking? A good time had by all.........

The picture to the right is a card I made for Peter and Bob (the Inn Keepers at Quail Hollow Inn). They were the most wonderful host I have ever. The cooked, the catered, and the were just down right fantastic.
The reason I made the card with two dogs is, they have 2 dogs and one of them was a rescue from hurricane Katrina. So, I hope they liked the card. The stamps are from Magnolia.
While away I made 11 cards. I will be posting every day for the next 2 weeks (I hope). Stay tuned

Blogger's challenge #70: Gift

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!

Friday=Blogger's challenge. This weeks challenge was to make something you can give as a gift. I didn't have a lot of time to put into this challenge, as I am going away for a girls scrapbook weekend, but I did want to participate. So, I used Kerry Donovan Casey's idea and altered some crystal light containers and put candy in them and I will use them to give to the teachers at christmas. Very simple to make and fun to make as well (plus you get to recycle).
This will be my last post for the weekend, but I am hoping to post something everyday next week. I have big plans for a productive weekend, and a fun one.

Earlier in the week I made these spider reeses treats. I made one for each of my girls for the weekend. Another simple project, but "sweet". These would also make great halloween treats for your childs class. I think I may make this a Mommy and Abbey project and she can make them for her class at Halloween. Well, That is all for Friday. I hop eyou all have a great weekend. If you get a chance go check out what creative ideas the ladies at the bloggers challenge group came up with. You won't be dissapointed!!!!!

Trick or Treat

It has been a few days since I have posted last. It has been a rough week so far. Work has been busy and I had to write a report for my buisness writing class. I have also been preparing for my Chemistry midterm next week. Arrhhh... Like I said, it has been a heck of a week already.
So, I had a couple of minutes to sit down today and play, and here is what I came up with. This really quick easy spider card. No stamping, and minimal work, yet cute results. This card was inspired by Toni Tessler.
I am heading away this weekend for a girls weekend away. I am going with my BF's to a Inn in Vermont for a weekend of stamping, scrapbooking, and good times. I am hoping to spend tomorrow packing and making my Fridays blogger challenge, and then I am of for the weekend. I am hoping to have a card to post everyday next week. Wouldn't that be nice. Happy Wednesday!

Merry Wishes

Ho...Ho...Ho....Ho....Meet my new Santa. I just purchased him from Whipper Snapper. I think he's cute and he is a lot of fun to color.

This card was my original Bloggers challenge #69 card, which was a color challenge: real rust, riding hood red, and old olive). When I was done, I realized I had not used Rust anywhere (ooops...), so this didn;t qualify. As my daughter would say "no worries". It was a really cute and easy card to make. If you want to see the color challenge scroll down. That card was not as easy or fun, but it's done (hehehe).

It's hard to belive that Christmas is in 2 months (yikes). I am hoping to make a few more cards with this stamp so you may be seeing hom some more. Have a great weekend!

Supplies:
stamps: Whipper Snapper . Sentiment by SU
paper: imagience (I think), SU cardstock
ink: staz on and waterrcolor crayons
Misc: SU ribbon, brads, marvy scallop punches

Blogger's Challenge #69: Color challenge

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, another Friday is here, and that means another Bloggers Challenge. This weeks challenge was a color challenge. The colors were Old Olive, Really Rust, Riding Hood Red (white/vanilla or confetti may be used). Color challenges are Hard for me because I rarely make a card without designer paper.

This challenge turned out to be no different. I serious spent 4 hours off and on making this card. Finally I had to break into the DP. Also, I didn't have riding Hood Red, so I used Cranberry, which I hope is close enough. This card is very different for me. I like to use cutesy images, but I really did enjoy coloring the pumpkins and leaves. I LOVE TO COLOR!!!.

This card is the perfect card for our New England fall. It is gorgeous right now. The leaves are slightly past peak and the temp is getting colder, but it is really pretty. Here are a couple photos I have taken recently of the trees and things.

Supplies:

Stamps: CTMH

paper: SU cardstock, Basic Grey DP.

Ink: watercolor crayons, staz on

Misc: Leave punch, Stickles, CTMH brads, Sizzix embossing folders, Marvy scallop punch.

Thanks for checking out my challenge. If you get a chance go see what all the ladies of Bloggers challenge made. You can click on the link on the side.

Have a great weekend.

Obama or McCain?

Okay, not the cutest card in the world, but very cute stamps. Recently I visited my favorite stamp store, and she was hosting a free make and take. It was hosted by Amuse, and they were cards for the troops. So I sat with my son and made a card for the troops with their new stamp set. Yep, had to have it. I don;t have anyone close to me in the military, but I love everything Americana. I just thought this was the cutest set ever. Bought it!
When I sat down to make a card with this set, I was stumped. So, I am really into the election this year so I thought "why not a political card". This is how it turned out. Quick and easy. Thanks for looking and don't forget to VOTE!

Bloggers Challenge # 67: Falling for you

TGIF.......Another Friday has arrived, and that means another bloggers challenge. The challenge this week was to make a fall themed love card, or a anniversary card. I never make any kind of "Love" cards, so I embraced the challenge. Since Fall is my favorite season, I decided to go with the "falling for you" theme. I immediately thought of my Amuse owls.
I'm not sure how you design your cards, but I am always working around whatever paper I like at that moment. I also NEVER use a standard card size, which tends to run me some issues with envelopes. I know you can't tell by the picture, but this card measures 7x6. It is HUGE, and I used tiny Amuse stamps.
Also, I also wanted to know what your feelings are on Amuse stamps? A lot of stampers I know say Amuse is not their style their "to simple". I think they are what you make them. I don't think this card is a "simple" card. So, I would like to know what you think. What do you like about them, or what don;t you like?
Thanks for checking out my blog and have a fantabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend. If you have time check out the bloggers challenge group and see what they came up with.

Supplies:
Paper: basic Grey, SU chco chip, olive and pumpkin
Stamps: Amuse
Punches : Su scalloped
Ribbon: random
Ink: copic
Tech: I actually tried the Faux wood grain for the tree. Wicked easy and a nice affect.
