The "Picture in My Head" journal page

Happy Friday!!! Hope you are enjoying your week.  It is a rainy and cold day here in New Hampshire. The kind of day that makes you want to say in your pjs and snuggle on the couch and watch TV.  I wish I could tell you that is what I did, but I didn't.  I did lots of errands, and a quick stop at Micheal's craft store. After watching one of  France papillon's videos, I decided I need a charcoal pencil to use as an out liner. Not sure mine will ever look as good as hers, but I am going to give it a try.   I also bought some new watercolor crayons to play with..... I feel like a little kid with all my markers, crayons, pencils and sprays....I just love it!!!!
Well, I am off to get a little crafty. I hope you enjoy your weekend....Happy Crafting :)

Going Grey With Scrap-Creations Challenge: Food & Prize!

Happy Tuesday!!!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend.  The weather here in New England has been gorgeous...Typical fall weather: cool, sunny and gorgeous.....The type of weather us New Englanders LOVE.....I wish I could tell you that I went apple picking, or to one of our local farms for some autumn goodness, but I didn't.  We did some catching up on the house chores, shopping and of course I managed to get in a little crafty time (which makes me a happy girl).  Maybe this weekend I can manage some fall fun!
This week we have a super fun challenge for you....This week, we want to see your FOOD projects.  For this challenge, I used this sweet image from The Digi Garden. This card would also be great with a Thanksgiving saying on .
With all this fabulous fall weather (which I LOVE), I am in the mood to give away a prize this week.....BUT....You are going to have to work for it....As I have mentioned, I LOVE the fall, and I love everything about it, but what I Love best is pumpkin picking with the kids...I love that they search for their perfect pumpkin. It just creates so many memories every year, as well as a ton of laughs. So, if you would like to play in the prize portion of this challenge, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite fall activity is and why.....The prize is a secret (but will be worth it).
WOW....so glad I wasn't the one that had to pick last weeks TOP 3....WOWZERS...the creations were amazing!!!!  Peggy picked this weeks Top 3 and said:

                                                                           Mervi:
" Great embossed framing of the scene.  It really makes the image pop."

Rachelle:
"The coloring on this card is beautiful.  The woman looks beautiful".

Sue:
"The color combo on this card is great. Really catches your eye."

Journal Page: Letting Go

Happy Saturday!!!! What a week it has been.....It has been a week of many changes.   Monday I started a new job, and it isn't any new job, it is my first job as a nurse. To say this week has been crazy is an understatement.  For the first time in a very long time, I had to leave my house at 6:15am and that is before everyone in my house is even awake, which means I don't get to see my babies before they go to school for the day. Also, it is a 10 hour day, which means my kids get home before me.  This has been my hardest adjustment.  Monday was a killer day for me, not only was I trying to learn a new job, but I was an emotional wreck. By 3pm, my brain was completely overloaded and I was really missing my kids.  I came home (in tears I might add), talked things over with my hubby (who has always been my rock), got some sleep and went back on Tuesday, which was a much better day. Needless to say, I am still at my job and I am actually enjoying it.  I am loving the time with the patients and I love patient teaching. That is probably my favorite part of the job, except the paycheck of course.
So with the start of my new job, and all the changes, I had to do some soul searching. My logical part knew that I this is what I had studied and trained for, but my heart was telling me otherwise. My heart was missing the kids and telling me I should be there for them (even know it is only 3 days).  Well, I created this page, with this week in mind. I need to learn to LET THINGS GO....I need to stop over thinking things. I know what I am doing is what I SHOULD be doing and my babies are fine!!! So, this week....I am letting it go.........Who needs enemies when I have that little voice in my head that likes to torture me......if you have kids, I am sure you know that voice .......
Well, I don't usually share this much personal stuff on my blog, but I journal as a way of dealing with things, and sometimes I think it may help others as well. So, that was my week, and now I am resting for the rest of the weekend. Hope you have a great weekend  :)

Happy Tuesday!!! I am sure hoping it is better than monday.  Yesterday I started my first job as a R.N. It was really hard leaving before the kids got up, and then I didn't get home until after they did from school....I was having mommy guilt all day about it, but it is all good, the kids did better than me :)  My first day at work was a 10hour day, and I am exhauted I tell ya.  Hoping things start to settle down as the week goes.....

Going Grey With Scrap-Creations Challenge:Pick 3

Happy Tuesday, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I am happy to say that my family and I had a very relaxing weekend and Since Sunday was opening day for the New England Patriots (NFL), we all hung around in our pjs till 4pm....LOVE IT!!! Weekends like that almost never happen, so when they do, I take full advantage of them.
We have a super fun challenge for you this week, it is called pick 3:Ribbon, Pearls, Red, Die Cut/Punches, Glitter, Distress, Embossing, Buttons, Paper Piecing, Blue.
For this weeks challenge, I used blue, red and distressed. ( I have basically given up using embellishments on the cards I am using, to save cost on shipping).  My Dad's birthday is coming up and he will be getting this card from me. I know, it is 2 boys, but my Dad LOVES football and I colored them red and blue for that Patriots, so he is getting it :)

The entries for last weeks Humor challenge were FABULOUS, and as always it was super hard to pick, but after much ho, and humming, the TOP 3 from last week are:

                                                                                  Dee

Katie

The Advantages of being Disorderly!

Happy Friday!!!!! Wahooo the weekend is here, and it is a weekend with no plans (my favorite).  I am hoping to catch up on house chores, school shopping for the kids, and maybe get a little bit of crafting in as well :)
Today I wanted to share my newest journal page.  I thinkk it is complete chaos, but I loved making this.  It is complete mixed media.  I use Dylusion sprays, watercolor stencil tech, I used acrylic paint, Copics (to color the girl), ranger ink, watercolor paints, white pen, black sharpie, Dylusion stamps, and a set of Inkadoo stamps. It's a complete mess and I love it ...lol....  There is nothing like taking a hour a day to sit and just play....really, journaling is very relaxing for me. I sit, almost ever night for 1 hour and create back grounds, add a little her, a little there. I never complete a whole page in one night. I almost always use a background I had previously created and move from there.  Like I said, I just love the mess......
Well, that is all from me today, I have a busy day today and need to get moving.  Have a great day!!!!!!
