Bloggers Challenge #84 Birthday
Well, after a long week, it is FINALLY FRIDAY! You know what Fridays mean, Bloggers challenge. This weeks challenge was rather simple, a Birthday card. YOu can never have enough Birthday cards. I have to admit, after a really busy week, with the kids, work, and 2 test, I wasn't sure I was going to be able play. It wasn't until I got home from work last night (10pm), that I decided I was finally going to sit and make a card today. So, I finished my card at approx 1 am this morning, but I at least I got to play.
I don't know about you, but there isn't enough time in the day for me to get things done. As much as I LOVE to sleep, I kinda wish that my body didn't require it. Life would be so much easier if I could have those extra 6-8 hours in the middle of the night when everyone else is sleeping. Well, wishful thinking. I am a person who definatly needs at least 7 hours of sleep a night, or I turn into a pumpkin. So, maybe in a different life.
Sorry about the rambling here, on my card I used one of my WHipper Snapper stamps, and the cupcake Basic Grey 6x6 DP. I wanted frosting to look realistic, so I used liquard pearls and moved it around until I thought It was similar looking to real frosting (what do you think)?
Have a FABULOUS Friday!

Stamps: Whipper Snapper, CTMH sentiment

SU INK & MORE Sneek Peek!
I hope you are all having a Fabulous Friday. Today is my turn to sneek peek one of the new sets released by SU INK & More. The set I used is called Blarney Stone. Oh, the whole set is so cute. I can't wait to play some more.
I picked the Irish step dancer image, because my BFF's daughter Irish step dances, and I knew I could recruit her for her ideas on colors. THey are very much a Irish family, and I hope she likes my take on her heritage.
If you haven't had a chance to make it to the SU INK blog, you should try to do so. The DT team has been sneek peeking the sets for the last 3 days, and there are some seriously cute projecrs. SO, if you get a chance, go head over and take a peek.
I hope you all have a Fantastic weekend!

A Sweet Valentine for a Sweet Girl
It's a Winter Wonderland Wednesday here in NH. We got another snow storm, and school (for the kids & I) was cancelled. The kids and I stayed in our PJ's all day. It was so nice. We did a little stamping, a little lunch, and few games. I have to admit, I LOVE a day with no commitments. We had no place to be, and no time restraints. I think there should be more days like today.
I was having a "not so" creative kind of day today, and after starting a few cards, I decided to pull out my new "Lilly and Billy" set from Pink Cat Studio. This set is so cute, and can be used for so many different kinds of cards.
I made today's Valentines Day card for My Goddaughter Maeve. This little Lilly on the card reminds me a little of my Goddaughter. The both are tiny, cute, and they both have pigtails that stick straight up. SO CUTE!
While photographing my card today, I noticed that the picture doesn't pick up the sparkle at all. So, I took a close up picture, hoping you can get a better feel for the sparkle on the card. I used my new Angel Wings Shimmerz on the heart, and my diamond Stickles on Lilly's hair pieces. Have you ever tried Shimmerz? It is a must try product.
Have you visited the Limelights Papercrafts online store? Well, go ahead and take a peek. They carry all the products I used on my card today, including the new Lilly and Billy stamp set. I hope you all had a wonderful day and keep warm!

It's a Penguin Valentine!
Are you all having a MARVOLOUS Monday? I have to admit, Monday is my least favorite day of the week. The weekend is usually the only time that we really get "real" family time. During the week we are running from activity to activity, and with me working and going to school nights, I barely get to see my hubby, and little time with my daughter. So, Monday just means the begining of another hectic week, and 5 more days till the weekend.
Well, I did have time to make this Memory Box Valentines card. I made this card for a mystery image swap for my SGGW yahoo group. I always think the penquin is so cute, but I have decided it is not really a "me" stamp. I think the image is to small, and now that I am addicted to my Copics, I prefer a image that requires a little more coloring.
I hope you all are enjoying your monday, and just think, 4 more days till the weekend! Any big plans?
MATERIALS
stamps: Memory box, saying by Pink Cat Studio, and Heart by SU INK
Paper: Basic Grey, Coredinations Cardstock

Bloggers Challenge # 83 & SCS sketch challenge 212
YEAH IT'S FRIDAY!!!!! Fridays mean Bloggers challenge, and this weeks challenge was a color challenge (black, red, Kiwi, and a Neutral).
I also combined this challenge with this weeks SCS sketch challenge. How easy is it to make a card when someone picks the colors and sketch? All I had to do was fill in the blanks.
I did stray a little from the challenge and I don't have Kiwi, so I used Old Olive. At first when I was trying to come up with something for the colors, I have to admit, that I wasn't thrilled with them until I started playing. It's always nice to try something out of your own comfort zone.
For this card I used the "Will You Be My Valentine" set from SU INK, and I combined it with SU DP paper that I had. I paper pieced the kids clothes to match, and this was the result. My card very much reminds me of the "80's". I don't know if it's the color combo, or the kids clothes. Anyways, I think it came out okay, and I really enjoyed combining the challenges.
If you would like to see some more amazing cards made with these colors, go ahead and click on the bloggers challenge logo on the side of my blog, and check out what the rest of the ladies made. You won't be disappointed.
Have a FANTABULOUS FRIDAY, and happy crafting.

SUINKWWC24-inspiration challenge
Whew, it's Wednesday already! Wednesday mean Whachadoin Wednesday Challenge over at the SU INK & More blog. This weeks challenge was a inspiration challenge. I was unable to upload the picture, but I hope to get it posted later.
My card this weeks card was inspired by a design of Susan Liles .This card was done using The January released stamps set Will You Be my Valentine from SU INK, and of course my basic grey 6x6 paper pack. I really do wish all Designer paper came in 6x6 pads and had the image made smaller for card makers. What do you think?
This has to be a short post, I have a Anatomy and Physiology quiz tonight, so I have to get studying. I hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday and keep warm!.

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #53
I hope you all are having a Terrific Tuesday. Today's card was inspired by Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. As simple as this card is, it proved to be a difficult sketch for me, because I don't have any heart punches or such (see, you never have enough). So I had to improvise and start tracing things. I also was working with the new Bittersweet 6x6 paper pack and had limited papers left (that I wanted to use), so I ran into not enough paper (good Grief). Anyways, I happily used one of my new Whipper Snapper stamps, which I think is so cute.
I have decided that this card is manly enough to give to my hubby for V-day, also, it's not one of my favorites, so I don;t mind giving it up (hehehe).
Well, I have 2 exams this week, so I am off to study, and I will be back to post A whachadoin Wednesday challenge tomorrow. Stay tuned.
For all of you that would love to participate in this Weeks challenge, head over to Maryjo's blog and read the details. Lots of fun. Keep warm.

WHACHADOIN' WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE #23 - Valentine Treats
SU INK & More host a challenge every Wednesday called WHACHADOIN' WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE. This weeks challenge was to make a Valentine treat holder. My holder is a small paper bag, which Michael's sells for 20 for $2.99 (I think). I used the newly released stamp set Will You Be My Valentine, and then colored with copics. I am still very new with the copics, and this was my first sky that I have been satisfied with. KDC came over yesterday and gave me a brief sky tutorial (Thanks Kerry).
So, If you live anywhere that is as cold (5 degrees) as it is here (NH) today, head to your craft space, create, and stay warm. Join in one the SU INK & More Challenge!

Bloggers Challenge 81: Designer Paper.....Be Mine!
Happy Friday....you know what Friday means....Bloggers challenge. This weeks bloggers challenge was one of my favorite..Designer paper, and I love paper.
So, have you ever bought a stamp, which you thought was so cute, and then get it home and start to work with it and think "why did I buy this"? Well, that's what happened with this frog. I started to color it and decided that I didn't think it was as cute as I had originally thought.
Well, I bought it and decided I must use it (at least once). Then, I had to choose paper to match, and God knows I have paper. Problem....my desk was such a mess (see photos below) that I couldn't find anything, never mind paper that would pop out. So, I went with my left over scraps from the last card I made, and I think it worked. Hey, at least I can say I am using my stuff wisely (hehehehe). Save a tree right! I think I spent 2 hours making this card, and not because it was difficult, but because I spent most of my time trying to find stuff. At one point I had lost the frog that I cut out to pop dot. It took me 10 minutes to find it. Needless to say, my weekend mission is to clean my craft space.

New Years Resolution
Happy New Years......It's amazing to me how fast the year seemed to go by, and how much has happened in the last year. When I look back at 2008, I can honestly say it was a pretty good year. My daughter started 2nd grade and loves it. My son started Kindergarten with ease, and I am so thankful for that, as we thought he would have a hard time adjusting, seeing he is such a mommas boy, My husband got a promotion, I finished another successful year at school, My family is healthy (thank God), we adopted a very cute puppy, whom we love, I took my first all girls weekend away, I started a blog that I enjoy, I made my first design team, and I won 2nd place in a a card contest. It was a big year for me and really, a pretty good one.
Every year I make New Years resolutions, and I NEVER fall through with them. SO this year, I am holding myself accountable by publicly stating my resolutions on my blog.
SO....There is one thing that I say I am going to do every year, and I do, do it for a little while, and then it fizzles out. Well, this year I have decided that I am not going to make any far fetched expectations of myself. I am going to start small.
So, you must be thinking "what in the world is it"? Well, I like a million Americans am going to (try) to get healthy. I am NOT going to diet. I am going to change my eating habits and start exercising. Last year I used the excuse that I had school in the morning, and work at night, so I couldn't got to the gym. Well, this semester, I am taking a class at night and a class in the morning. This will give me 3 free mornings a week. I am committing myself to 1 hour a day for 3 days a week at the gym. I have had a membership for 6 months now and I have only gone 3 times (don't laugh, alright go ahead and laugh, I do).
I also have a few others that I would like to share, so here's my list in order of importance:
1. Get healthy
2. Go to bed earlier ( I am a wicked late night er)
3. Cut my Diet coke intake in 1/2, and drink more water.
4. cut down on my spending (do I really need more product)?
5. Grant myself permission to take a break.
So, there's my list. What are your New Year's resolutions? SU INK & more hosted a New Years challenge yesterday and I wanted to play, so I made this card inspired by this card by Taylor VanBruggen
My Good friend Pia bought me this new Diet Sophie stamp, and I new exactly what I wanted to do with it. SO, Here are my results and I hope you have a magnificent 2009!
Supplies:
Stamps: Riley Moose from Hanna stamps
Ink: Copics, Memento
Paper: SU cardstock, papertrey white, CTMH DP
misc: ribbon, Computer generated sentiment, punches, white pen
