Whachadoin Wednesday with SU INK & More

Good Morning. Happy Wednesday. We are half way through the week. It is he kids 2nd day of school and My 1st day back to school for the semester. I am hoping that my classes will be enriching and interesting.

Today's challenge over at SU INK is "Fall" theme. I live in New England where Fall is gorgeous. This morning it is 50 degrees and will warm up as the week goes. This is a sure sign that Fall is on it's way (my favorite season).

For my card today, I used One of the trees from the Friendly Forest collection from SU INK'S New INKIES stamps. I used some Basic Grey paper and some buttons, and this is what I ended up with. Do you feel the fall crisp air? (hehehehe).

So, do you like to make Fall themed cards? Did I inspire you (I hope)? Well, what are you waiting for? Head on over to your craft spot make a Fall Themed card and link it up over at SU INK & MORE to play with us this week. I bet you could combine 2 challenges in one card.

So, today has to be short but sweet. I have a class at 10:00am and then I am hoping to do some laundry and make some cards. So, Have a GREAT day and Happy Creating!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Su Ink & More (Tree), CTMH (sentiment)
Paper: Basic Grey DP, SU cardstock

Whachadoin Wednesday: it's a ocean around here.

GOOD MORNING! It's Wednesday and Wednesday's mean WHachadoin Wednesday challenge over at SU INK & MORE. The challenge today is summer theme. Well, I have the most adorable set from SU INK, and I couldn't wait to use it. The name of this set is "Ocean Commotion", and it is soooo cute. As you can see, I used a bunch of the stamps from the set and wanted to use more of the fish and things, but it was starting to get really crowded. I just love the set.

My card was inspired by a card done by Nikki Estes. I am pretty happy with the way my card came out. Honestly, it too me 2 hours to make this card, and I spent probably 1 1/2 hours just coloring it, but it was so fun. I am not typically a scene kind of card maker, but I like the way this turned out. What do you think?

I also wanted to try to capture the sparkle I put on the fish. I think that was successful.
Well, that is all for me today. I have Beachitis (exhausted from to much vacation, and I am hoping to get a nap in today. Would love for you to play with us today. DO you have a beach card you need/want to make? Come play with us!

Have a great day and happy Creating!

Supplies
Stamps: Ocean Commotion from SU INK & MORE, Simple Stitches from CTMH
Papers; We R Memories DP, Coredinations cardstock, PTI white cardstock

New Years Resolution

Happy New Years......It's amazing to me how fast the year seemed to go by, and how much has happened in the last year. When I look back at 2008, I can honestly say it was a pretty good year. My daughter started 2nd grade and loves it. My son started Kindergarten with ease, and I am so thankful for that, as we thought he would have a hard time adjusting, seeing he is such a mommas boy, My husband got a promotion, I finished another successful year at school, My family is healthy (thank God), we adopted a very cute puppy, whom we love, I took my first all girls weekend away, I started a blog that I enjoy, I made my first design team, and I won 2nd place in a a card contest. It was a big year for me and really, a pretty good one.
Every year I make New Years resolutions, and I NEVER fall through with them. SO this year, I am holding myself accountable by publicly stating my resolutions on my blog.
SO....There is one thing that I say I am going to do every year, and I do, do it for a little while, and then it fizzles out. Well, this year I have decided that I am not going to make any far fetched expectations of myself. I am going to start small.
So, you must be thinking "what in the world is it"? Well, I like a million Americans am going to (try) to get healthy. I am NOT going to diet. I am going to change my eating habits and start exercising. Last year I used the excuse that I had school in the morning, and work at night, so I couldn't got to the gym. Well, this semester, I am taking a class at night and a class in the morning. This will give me 3 free mornings a week. I am committing myself to 1 hour a day for 3 days a week at the gym. I have had a membership for 6 months now and I have only gone 3 times (don't laugh, alright go ahead and laugh, I do).
I also have a few others that I would like to share, so here's my list in order of importance:

1. Get healthy
2. Go to bed earlier ( I am a wicked late night er)
3. Cut my Diet coke intake in 1/2, and drink more water.
4. cut down on my spending (do I really need more product)?
5. Grant myself permission to take a break.

So, there's my list. What are your New Year's resolutions? SU INK & more hosted a New Years challenge yesterday and I wanted to play, so I made this card inspired by this card by Taylor VanBruggen
My Good friend Pia bought me this new Diet Sophie stamp, and I new exactly what I wanted to do with it. SO, Here are my results and I hope you have a magnificent 2009!

Supplies:
Stamps: Riley Moose from Hanna stamps
Ink: Copics, Memento
Paper: SU cardstock, papertrey white, CTMH DP

Bloggers Challenge # 77: Ornament or Home decor

MIA....that's what i have been lately. I just finished the semester and I have 1 final to go (chem...aarrgghhh). I am sooo happy it's over. It's so hard when you want to be creating, but instead you are committed to your responsibilities.
Anyway, I missed the last 2 weeks, but I really wanted to play, so I put this ornament together this morning. It was really quick, but I think it came out okay. I even broke out my embossing supplies. I can't remember the last time I embossed anything. So, Let me know what you think, and I hope you are all catching your breath in this busy season.

Supplies:
Stamps: one of the AC Moore $1.00 stamps
Inks: versamark
paper: CTMH
Misc: ribbon, stickles, embossing powder

Turnip, Bug, Rodent, maybe Alien

The answer...... I have no idea what this image is. I received this image in a image swap from SGGW. I can definitely say this was a true challenge. Honestly, when I first looked at the image, I thought "what am I going to do with this, and what is it", but soon after I sat and played around with "it", it all started to flow. I still have no idea what the image is, but I thought the saying "celebrate you" was perfect for the image. You know, the whole Alien (maybe) dancing in a tutu. It's Kinda like saying, no matter what people think, be yourself. Sometimes I feel like this in the stamping community. There are so many wonderful card makers out there and you look at all their cards and think "wow, I wish my cards look like theirs". Well, my cards don't look like "theirs", but my cards are mine. My style, my creativity and my ART. As a good friend of mine would say, Mine, mine, all mine! I hope you all have a wonderful Monday. Remember short week. Yeah......

BLOG CANDY REMINDER: today is the last day. I will pick and post the winner tomorrow night. GOOD LUCK! Thanks for all who participated.

Supplies:
stamps:http: stampotique, CTMH (sentiment)
Ink: versafine, and copics
paper: dp is Basic Grey, and SU cardstock

Bloggers Challenge # 74: Happy Thanksgiving

TGIF......I couldn't be happier that it's friday. I worked a ton of hours this week, had to do a oral presentation in one of my classes, Had a serious chemistry week, and ran the kids all over creation. This will be my first weekend off (I don't have to work and have no commitments)in 5 weeks. So, when I say TGIF, I seriosly mean it.
Friday always means Bloggers Challenge, and this weeks challenge was to make some thing "Thankful", whether it be a card or a project. I decide to go with a card, and this way I can mail it to my husbands Grandmother (one more thing done).
I am not sure how I feel about this card. I don;t love it. I guess I think it's just okay. One day at A.C. moore I found the cornacopia stamp, and decided to use my 50% off coupon on it, but when the cashier ran it up, it was only $1.00. Can you believe it? Of course I had to buy what they had left. I couldn't leave that stamp on the self for $1.00 (even know I just bought one for myself). So they only had one left, and I bought it. Good deal!!!!
I hope you all have a great weekend. If you have time check out what the rest of the ladies at the bloggers challenge group made. I know I can;t wait to see what they did. Happy Friday!

Supplies:
stamps: unknown cornacopia, CTMH saying
paper: karen foster, su cardstock
ink: stazon, gamasol, SU cranberry

Blogger's challenge #70: Gift

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!

Friday=Blogger's challenge. This weeks challenge was to make something you can give as a gift. I didn't have a lot of time to put into this challenge, as I am going away for a girls scrapbook weekend, but I did want to participate. So, I used Kerry Donovan Casey's idea and altered some crystal light containers and put candy in them and I will use them to give to the teachers at christmas. Very simple to make and fun to make as well (plus you get to recycle).
This will be my last post for the weekend, but I am hoping to post something everyday next week. I have big plans for a productive weekend, and a fun one.

Earlier in the week I made these spider reeses treats. I made one for each of my girls for the weekend. Another simple project, but "sweet". These would also make great halloween treats for your childs class. I think I may make this a Mommy and Abbey project and she can make them for her class at Halloween. Well, That is all for Friday. I hop eyou all have a great weekend. If you get a chance go check out what creative ideas the ladies at the bloggers challenge group came up with. You won't be dissapointed!!!!!

Trick or Treat

It has been a few days since I have posted last. It has been a rough week so far. Work has been busy and I had to write a report for my buisness writing class. I have also been preparing for my Chemistry midterm next week. Arrhhh... Like I said, it has been a heck of a week already.
So, I had a couple of minutes to sit down today and play, and here is what I came up with. This really quick easy spider card. No stamping, and minimal work, yet cute results. This card was inspired by Toni Tessler.
I am heading away this weekend for a girls weekend away. I am going with my BF's to a Inn in Vermont for a weekend of stamping, scrapbooking, and good times. I am hoping to spend tomorrow packing and making my Fridays blogger challenge, and then I am of for the weekend. I am hoping to have a card to post everyday next week. Wouldn't that be nice. Happy Wednesday!

Blogger's Challenge #69: Color challenge

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, another Friday is here, and that means another Bloggers Challenge. This weeks challenge was a color challenge. The colors were Old Olive, Really Rust, Riding Hood Red (white/vanilla or confetti may be used). Color challenges are Hard for me because I rarely make a card without designer paper.

This challenge turned out to be no different. I serious spent 4 hours off and on making this card. Finally I had to break into the DP. Also, I didn't have riding Hood Red, so I used Cranberry, which I hope is close enough. This card is very different for me. I like to use cutesy images, but I really did enjoy coloring the pumpkins and leaves. I LOVE TO COLOR!!!.

This card is the perfect card for our New England fall. It is gorgeous right now. The leaves are slightly past peak and the temp is getting colder, but it is really pretty. Here are a couple photos I have taken recently of the trees and things.

Supplies:

Stamps: CTMH

paper: SU cardstock, Basic Grey DP.

Ink: watercolor crayons, staz on

Misc: Leave punch, Stickles, CTMH brads, Sizzix embossing folders, Marvy scallop punch.

Thanks for checking out my challenge. If you get a chance go see what all the ladies of Bloggers challenge made. You can click on the link on the side.

Have a great weekend.

Halloween is soon approaching, and it just wouldn't be Halloween without Boris. I then started stalking the mail lady. Yep, It came today, and I had to play. Even know I have homework and housework coming out my ears. I just had to play with my new punch. So, here is Boris with my punch.
