Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #60 & weekend happenings

Happy Monday! Today's card was made for MaryJo's Monday Lunchtime sketch challenge. I have to admit that the sketch was intimidating to look at, but once I started working on my card, it was not bad. Friday my friends Kerry and Pia came over and we did some stamping and talking. More talking than stamping, but I did get a chance to stamp some of Kerry's Magnolia stamps. If you know Kerry, you know she is a HUGE fan of Magnolia's. I on the other hand think they are just okay. I mean, I like the looks of them and I am often in Ahhh at the cards I see people make, but they just aren't "me". So, this challenge is more than one. I personally challenged myself to use the Magnolia stamp that I colored. I think my card came out okay, not great no terrible just OKAY! I did stamp a few, so I may try again. We'll see.....

How are you all making out with the time change? Well, everyone in my house went to bed at their regular time, but not me, I kept looking at the clock thinking it's "really" only 11:00pm, "I still have time". So much for that, I over slept and both kids were late for school. Not only that , but I woke up to MORE snow. This winter has been unbelievable. We have had more snow than you can imagine. It wouldn't seem so bad if yesterday wasn't 60 degrees and everyone was without coats for the first time in months. I am starting to feel like I live in a frozen tundra!

I also wanted to share one more thing with you today. My church has a competition level basketball and cheerleading squad, and this year is my daughter Abbey's first year on the cheering squad. Abbey cheers in the beginners level, which means they don't actually compete, they are just starting out. Well, they got invited to Saturdays Cheerleading competition to do their routine, and OMG were they so cute. The ages range from 5-9 and you can only image how sweet they were. When it was time to announce the teams scores, Abbey's squad got called up and they gave them all medals. Agian, so cute. So, as a proud mom, I had to share some photos.

I hope you all have a Marvelous Monday, and if you get a chance pop over to MJ's blog and play along!

Supplies:Paper Basic grey, Stamps: Magnolia, and sentiment CTMH. Ink: Memento black, and copics. Misc: Marvy punches, and white pen, and Kaiser pearls.

Great card Kristen, you must have made it after you kicked me out and sent me home! I knew that was when the fun would really start!

Abbey is so cute! Congrats to her team!

Very cute, great job with this layout. I happen to agree with you they are not my favorite stamps, they need mouths, lol! But of course I think that the MFT people need heads so maybe it is just me. Anyway your card turned out wonderfully. Thanks for playing.

Your card is really cute!
Abbey looks so grown up from last time I saw her. She is growing up just so fast. Ryan must be right behind her growing up so fast too!
They're definitely not babies anymore.

I agree with you and MJ! I just can't get past the incomplete facees, and so many stamps seem to have them now! Still, really an adorable card. TFS!

Aww your daughter is so cute! She looks like she is having a great time. IT so so wonderful that your church does that for the kids! I know wha tyou mean about the winter. I am so over the cold and snow but I also want ti to just stay warm and not jump around all the time.

Love, love, love your card! IT is so beautiful!!! The colors are amazing and you did a great job with the sketch and the magnolia. Beautiful use of papers and accessories as well!

Your daughter's a cutie and you're a proud mom - with good reason! How fun for you both! I love the Magnolia card too! You did a really great job in spite of the fact that they're not really "you." An unsuspecting person would never know...

Love the card! I was reading your entry and couldn't believe you have an Abbey (spelled the RIGHT way!)! I have an Abbey also - she is 25 years old! I have always loved that name. My Abbey is getting married in a few months so we have been busy with plans. Your Abbey is really sweet (mine was a cheerleader in High School)!
